Missi Rotis

Along with the Parathas I made to go with a curry, I also made some Missi Rotis, this was weeks ago! (But today is the first day I have had chance to catch up on my blog!) These were scrummy! So much more exciting than always eating naans with our curries. Definitely worth a go!

115g Gram Flour

115g Wholemeal Bread Flour

1 Green Chilli, seeded and chopped

1/2 Onion, finely chopped

1 tbsp Fresh Coriander

1/2tsp Ground Turmeric

1/2tsp Salt

1tbsp Oil or Melted Butter

120-150ml lukewarm water

3-4tbsp Ghee


1. Chop the coriander, mix with the flours, salt, chilli, onion and turmeric. Stir in the tablespoon of oil or butter.

2. Mix in water until you have a soft dough, knead until smooth and soft.

3. Rise in an oiled bowl for an hour. Turn out the dough, divide into 4 equal pieces, shape into balls and roll out into rounds about 15cm in diameter.

4. Heat a frying pan until very hot. Brush both sides of the roti with ghee, cook for 2 minutes, about 1 minute on each side. Brush again with ghee when cooked, cook the rest of the rotis then serve warm.
